Sam Laura Brown – (The Getting Shit Done Series)
[00:00:29] Okay. So this is part one of the five part Getting Shit Done series that I’m sharing with you here on the podcast. So if you’re a perfectionist entrepreneur, you want to stop overthinking, you want to stop procrastinating, you want to stop burning yourself out or being so goddamn scared of burning yourself out again, and you want to start creating and building something new momentum in your business, then this series is going to be absolutely incredible for you. In case you don’t know who I am, my name is Sam Laura Brown. I’m the creator of Perfectionists Getting Shit Done, which is a productivity program designed especially for perfectionist entrepreneurs like you. And over the years I have coached at this point, a thousand perfectionist entrepreneurs on how to get out of their own way, follow through with their plans and create success without sacrificing their wellbeing, their relationships, their health, like how to actually build a sustainable business as a perfectionist who is scared of making the wrong decision, who is scared of putting themselves out there, who is smart and intelligent and has so much potential and yet holds themselves back. That’s who I help. That’s who this series is for. And I just want you to know at the outset that I know how to help you.
[00:01:49] It’s simple. You’re going to be able to do it. It’s not a big deal. It’s not this like big thing you have to overcome. Going from being an overthinking procrastinator with a lot of potential to being. An entrepreneur who can consistently and sustainably get shit done is easy when you’re using the right tools for your perfectionist brain.
[00:02:10] So we’re going to be talking about that in this series. This isn’t just any productivity series. This is specifically for perfectionists and it’s going to be insanely helpful for you. So I want to mention too, with this series, I’m always talking about what would this look like? If it was easy to ask yourself that question.
[00:02:30] And as perfectionists, we tend to prioritize or place more value on things that are hard and complicated than things that are fun and easy. And often it’s the things that are fun and easy that work best when we actually let ourselves do them. And so what I did for this podcast series was initially, I thought I’ll just record a little pre-series.
[00:02:54] On my Instagram and I’ll just chat about all the productivity things that I really want people to know, especially perfectionists to know at the beginning of this year to really set themselves up for an incredible 2025 instead of having to try harder to just be more motivated or be more disciplined or have a better morning routine, like What are the actual things you need to be doing as a perfectionist if productivity is a struggle for you?
[00:03:21] So that’s what I’m sharing in this. And so anyway, I just recorded off the top of my head, the Instagram recordings. And then as I was recording, I was like, This is actually the series. Like this is actually what I need to be sharing on the podcast. And I hope that just by seeing me be an example of letting it be easy, trusting myself and not trying to get it right or say the right words, that it can also inspire you and give you permission to do the same.
[00:03:51] You don’t have to have it be polished. You don’t have to have it be perfect and actually being able to trust yourself and be out of your own way. is what can and will create so much success for your business, not just as a one off as a fluke, but sustainably long term. So in this series, there are five parts.
[00:04:12] You’re going to get practical tools and strategies that you can start using right away. Mindset shifts to help you take consistent action without burning out really important. We’re talking about productivity. Without the burnout, without longer hours, without having to try harder, you are already trying as hard as you can.
[00:04:31] That isn’t the solution. It’s really about being able to be productive as a perfectionist in a way that works for your brain. So I’ll talk about that in this series, but whether you’re struggling with procrastination, fear of judgment, if you’re always feeling behind, you are going to find what I share in this series really actionable, really relatable, and it’s going to help you have the most productive year. And also I want to make sure you know this at the outset, because for many of you, this will be the next step that if you want to take this work further, if you want the full support and the coaching and the process, my program called Perfectionists Getting Shit Done, aka PGSD will give you the tools, the coaching and the community to really have you go from being the overthinking procrastinator to being someone who can get shit done consistently and sustainably without burning out. What I share in this series is going to be Incredible just in and of itself, but I know for so many people listening, you actually want to Do this work and take that next step and have that full support So I want to make sure you know that you are invited to join us inside pgsd So doors will be opening for enrollment just for one week only At 6 am New York time on Friday the 31st of January and closing at 11:59 pm New York time. So Eastern time on Friday, the 7th of February. So that’s the time that we are open for enrollment. So I just want to make sure you know about that at the outset. I will be talking about it throughout this series and I will be sharing so many actional pieces of advice that you can start applying right away to help you get shit done in your life in 2025 and beyond.
[00:06:20] So as I mentioned, this series was recorded as a little Instagram series I was doing just for fun. And what that means is I ended up kind of shuffling around a few of the parts. So we have edited it together so that it is going to make sense. But just in case you hear anything and you’re like, That is why.
[00:06:39] And I’m just, again, wanting to be an example that you don’t have to be like, Oh, that was great. So I’m going to rerecord it for the podcast. No, I’m actually going to let myself have it be fun, have it be easy, use my past work rather than recreating everything from scratch. It’s such a big part of what we teach you how to do inside PGSD.
[00:06:58] So I of course want to practice what I preach, be an example of that. And rather than, and I’m sure. Almost everyone else you’re learning from is presenting with that polished, put together, everything just right approach. And while that looks great, it puts so much pressure on you to have to get it all right, which makes it so much harder to stop procrastinating, to stop overthinking.
[00:07:21] So I want to really be the antidote to that, the solution to that, the counterexample that you need. It can be fun. It can be easy. There can be a lot of self trust, even if you have a history of not trusting yourself, of not following through with your plans. So with that said, let’s get into part one of this series.
Sam Laura Brown – (Start of the episode)
[00:07:40] I’m going to be doing a little video every day to share with you on Instagram to help you with productivity this year, to help you with getting shit done this year in your business. So as you might already know, I help perfectionist entrepreneurs to get shit done and I have a productivity program for perfectionist entrepreneurs called Perfectionists Getting Shit Done, PGSD.
[00:08:07] So I’m going to be sharing with you every day, just a little something practical that is going to help you actually have a productive 2025. And it’s all geared, I’m just thinking of like the important things to tell you, it’s all geared towards you as a perfectionist. If you didn’t know the productivity advice that is most commonly talked about, like use a to do list and highlight the priorities for the day, that is advice that doesn’t actually work for you.
[00:08:37] for perfectionists, but because it works for a non perfectionist, it’s talked about. So what I’m going to be teaching you is how to be productive as a perfectionist, who has a tendency towards procrastination, who has a tendency towards overthinking, who has a tendency towards being all or nothing, pressuring themselves, and then falling off the wagon, burning themselves out.
[00:09:01] If you have a fear of judgment, you do a lot of people pleasing, holding yourself back, keeping yourself small, especially when it comes to your business, then this is going to be for you. So I’m just going to share every day on stories, a little bit What am I trying to say? A little story to help you with this and just give you something to practical to really help you with your productivity.
[00:09:28] And then for those who do want to do this work inside my program and who want to work with me and really have the full support to have a productive year and to just really be able to then start making more money, really start feeling that progress, to start feeling behind, then This is for you. So make sure you follow along, make sure you are coming back, that you’re watching this every day and that you are able to get the help you need.
[00:09:58] Because if you aren’t able to actually take action to make a plan and follow it, then you’re to do that without burning out. It is almost impossible to build a successful business. And I would say it’s impossible to build a successful business that actually feels good. So I want to help you with that.
[00:10:18] That’s my mission. That’s what I do for a living. That’s what I’ve helped many people with before. And I want to help you as well. So that’s what we’re doing over here. That’s what I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about and getting ready to welcome you in. So stay tuned.
[00:10:35] This is part one in my Getting Shit Done series here on Instagram stories. And I’m going to be recording all of these by the way, they’re going out on different days. I’m recording them and I’m not even changing what I’m wearing because part of what I want to do is helping perfectionists is to help you do things in a simpler and easier way.
[00:10:56] And it’s not just batch creating things, but like, You can do it in the same outfit. So with that said, what I want to talk about, first of all, this is really important when it comes to understanding and being more productive as a perfectionist, but understanding why you’re not currently productive is learning about perfectionism specifically in productivity.
[00:11:18] So how do you know if you’re a perfectionist? These are the five signs that after coaching a thousand, literally, perfectionist entrepreneurs that I have observed and that are really just telltale signs that you are in the perfectionist way of thinking, even if you don’t think you’re perfect enough. To be a perfectionist.
[00:11:38] I never used to think I was a perfectionist. Aren’t they perfect people who are always neat, always organized. I always had so much crap in the boot of my car that I just couldn’t be bothered to take inside for years. So I didn’t think I could be a perfectionist if that was me, but turns out that perfectionists aren’t people who do everything perfectly, though we might try, but but we are people who are scared of being imperfect and scared of the shame.
[00:12:06] And so a lot of times when you’re a perfectionist, some are over preparers, but most perfectionists are actually not people who over prepare and are neat and organized. They are people who, we are people who withhold effort. To avoid finding out that if we did put in a full effort, it wouldn’t be good enough.
[00:12:26] We’re wanting to protect our potential and our belief about who we are and how good we are by not fully trying things. So here are the five signs of perfectionism. And for me, these only really, really, really started to come up. When I started my business that they were there when I was studying my law degree, my finance degree, they were there earlier than that in high school, they were there, but it didn’t become a problem, a really big problem until I started wanting to put myself out there and have a business and be doing something that wasn’t necessarily expected of me.
[00:13:04] And that brought up a lot of perfectionism for me. So here are the five signs. First of all, we have procrastination. Second, overthinking. Third, we have the burnout, burning yourself out. Fourth, all or nothing thinking. And five is fear of judgment. So if you are in a mindset where you then tend towards Those five things.
[00:13:31] It is very hard to be productive. It is very hard to stay focused and to not get distracted. It is very hard to sit down at your desk and get work done that will actually make a difference. And instead you want to sit down because you want to be productive, but then maybe you get up. to do a load of laundry or to see if there’s anything in the fridge or have a talk to your partner.
[00:13:53] Or you tick off those little things first. You’re constantly just checking email, checking DMs, checking, checking, checking things, or just polishing and perfecting and working on things like your images. Maybe it’s your branding, maybe it’s your website. Getting your ducks in a row, getting all organized and having big dreams and not doing anything with it.
[00:14:15] Not getting shit done. And if you do get shit done, you do it in a way that burns you out. And we don’t want to do that. I want to teach you how to take sustainable action so you can show up consistently in a way that feels good, that gets you results. That doesn’t lead you to burn out. That doesn’t lead you to just be, Oh, we all know what that burnout feels like to just be like a zombie because you have exhausted yourself with all the pressure.
[00:14:41] So that’s the first thing I want you to understand. That’s part one of this series is understanding that if you are a perfectionist and you want to be productive, which is a key skill in business, Productivity and execution, absolutely key. There’s no amount of perfecting the strategy or perfecting the messaging that will have you be able to be successful.
[00:15:06] If you don’t know how to execute, if you can’t actually follow through with plans and get shit done. If you can’t trust yourself to do what you said you would do, it’s essential to do. It’s not a a nice to have. It is a must have, especially if you are talking about following through on marketing tasks and selling tasks and things that are going to help with making money.
[00:15:25] If you can’t follow through on those things, it doesn’t matter how perfect they are. Because you’re not going to be able to do them and therefore make the money and build a business and leave your job Or whatever that goal is for you. So number one is just understanding Perfectionism has a big impact on productivity and that doesn’t mean perfectionism is evil.
[00:15:45] That doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you It simply means that you need a productivity strategy and productivity tools that take your perfectionism into account and get your perfectionist mindset working for you instead of against you. So instead of using a to do list that triggers your all or nothing mindset, for example, and overwhelms you, we want to have you use a productivity tool that actually calms your perfectionist brain down.
[00:16:14] So you feel clear on what to do. You’re not overscheduled. You know, those things will actually move the needle and you can actually do them. So you need the right tool for your perfectionist brain.
[00:16:23] Okay. So what I want to share today is a bit about my story, my journey with perfectionism, in the hope that it helps you to get out of your own way and be productive as a perfectionist entrepreneur.
[00:16:38] That’s what this whole series is about. And I really want to share with you. More about what that has looked like for me and maybe tomorrow I’ll share one of my client case studies. I’ll have a think about it as I’m chatting what I’m going to do tomorrow. But what I want to share is what it was like for me, how I realized I was a perfectionist, how it showed up for me in business and what it looked like to go from being unproductive to being productive because that’s what Perfectionists Getting Shit Done is going to be helping you with the most.
[00:17:10] That it is really a, well, it is a productivity program for perfectionist entrepreneurs, and it helps you go from procrastinating, overthinking, and getting in your own way, to being able to show up consistently, To show up confidently to do the things you need to do and to do them without burning out. So you can actually build a business.
[00:17:34] So when it comes to my own journey with perfectionism, when I started my business, so that was for me, 2013, I’m in August. I started a blog. It was called smart twenties. I was 22 at the time and I started this blog and I had been listening to podcasts and just was like, maybe I could actually have my own online business, which I am so proud of past me for even entertaining that possibility because I had very little self confidence.
[00:18:05] And at the time I was a law student and a finance student, dual degree. So I ended up graduating in 2015, a couple of years later. Um, But there was no, no reason for me to actually think I could have an online business. I didn’t yet know what coaching is. I have a coaching business now, so I didn’t yet know what coaching even is.
[00:18:23] So I’ve always been the person who is the coach to friends and like the, um, the voice of reason like wise person in the group, but I didn’t know that was a thing. So anyway, heard about online business, blogging specifically, and decided to start a blog. That took a lot of courage. I actually started a baking blog first.
[00:18:46] And I’m so glad I actually just created the blog. It was called Samantha baking wordpress. com, I think. And I, cause I was doing baking every Tuesday, just like in the evenings, I called it procrastinating because I was meant to be studying. And I wrote a post and I was like, Oh my God, this is, I really don’t like talking about food.
[00:19:07] Like I’m not, I’m not a foodie. I was like, Oh, I’m so glad I tried that. Cause I, it’s not fear or doubt. I just literally don’t care about food. Um, so anyway. I had a few different ideas and eventually I was like, I want to have a blog that talks about my own journey, which is trying to figure out how to make the most of my twenties.
[00:19:25] And I, I don’t want to like be a whiny 20 something like I’m so broke and I don’t want to be like, Oh my God, look at me. I’m perfect. But like if I’m genuinely trying to create something with my life, what does that look like? And so I had just discovered recently before that personal development and I just started sharing.
[00:19:47] things that I was interested in. And this is, I just want to highlight this state of my business because the way I said that kind of sounds like I was confident I wasn’t. So first of all, this was a big, big secret from anyone in my life. My now husband Steve didn’t tell him about it. He’s a very supportive, very supportive guy.
[00:20:07] Didn’t tell him about it. So embarrassed by myself. If anyone so much as said like, what even is a blogger? What do you think you’re doing? Like I would have shut the whole thing down immediately. And never tried again. I was like on such shaky legs, such shaky ground with my belief in it. Didn’t tell friends.
[00:20:26] I have very supportive friends. I have a supportive family. Didn’t tell anyone. I was so embarrassed that I even thought I could. And when it came to what I would actually post, I didn’t even have an opinion about anything. And so what I did was I just posted links to blogs that I liked of like, I think this article is cool.
[00:20:45] That’s literally all I’d say. Not here’s why, like I found this really interesting and I’d link a YouTube video for someone else. Or like I heard about this story from someone. I’d just like kind of start curating, like these are things I’ve found helpful and I didn’t have any kind of opinion about it.
[00:21:04] And even then, I was so embarrassed to tell anyone about it. It just felt like the, like, and a lot of artists and writers and like, I work with a lot of creative entrepreneurs, a lot of people experiences of like, I feel so like me, like this is such a deep dream that I have that it’s so vulnerable to go all in on it and to potentially fail at it.
[00:21:31] And so we do all sorts of things to avoid that either. We are always getting our ducks in a row, always trying to get more ready, always blaming lack of time. I just don’t have enough time to work on it or I can’t figure out exactly what it is I want to do. I need to have more time thinking about it, need to have more time researching it.
[00:21:48] Or if you do decide what it is. So like for me, I was like, I do want to. Do this blog that I just like, I did my first post and then I stopped everything completely for three months. So I started the blog in August. And then I stopped listening to any of the podcasts that had been inspiring me. I didn’t post anything.
[00:22:13] I was just like in such shock that I had even taken the first step. step that I couldn’t even engage with the world of entrepreneurship or blogging in any way, shape or form. It was too much to even think that I had started to try. And then eventually, three months later, I was like, okay, this isn’t leaving me alone.
[00:22:33] This idea. And this is a lot of perfectionist that I help. It’s like, I, I have this idea that keeps on bugging me. Like I have this dream or this business that I’m already actively working on. And like, I just know I have to, at some point in my life, fully try this. And that if I don’t, it’ll be a regret.
[00:22:52] And that I really also have a lot of resistance to doing it, but I just really feel like this is something I need to try, but I’m so scared, but I need to try it. So I had that feeling with this. And then when it came to like three months later, I started all kinds of tactics. I didn’t know I was a perfectionist, did not know.
[00:23:10] I thought I just, and I would blog about eventually. Like a few months later, when I started actually sharing more, I started blogging about like my motivation issues. Like, how do I actually stay motivated? If you go and look at my website and go back into the archives, I think all those posts are still there of like, all these different things that I used to write about, like, I don’t know how to stay motivated.
[00:23:31] Like, What is this? It’s going on. And I remember particularly in 2014, I was writing a lot about it because what I would do is I would try to post consistently on my blog, but I was so damn scared of laughter of judgment. And I was laughing and judging myself so hard, laughing at me and judging me so hard.
[00:23:52] That I couldn’t take it from anyone else, hence why I wasn’t telling anyone else about it. A lot of my friends only found out about it because they stumbled across my Instagram account or like I told a couple people they mentioned it. I was like, oh my god, I’m gonna, I just want to crawl under a rock.
[00:24:07] And I am mortified, terrified, like in panic of anyone else finding out about this. Anyway, so again, big difference from where I am today, where everyone I know in my life knows about this business, can see me, can watch this video if they want to, um, and see me. I a couldn’t care but be lots of the fight really helpful as well.
[00:24:29] Um, but anyway, so I was just so Just so terrified of failing at the thing that I most wanted to do Which even though i’d always been like a rule following kind of perfectionist I wanted to like I was on track to either work in finance or as a lawyer or as an accountant I ended up when I graduated I worked in insolvency accounting And just kind of like started doing the things I was meant to be doing.
[00:24:58] And I, by that point, I’d been like, I want to be full time in my business. By the time I graduate, I hadn’t even made a cent because nothing was for sale. And I had no ads on my site. Like there was literally no way I could have been full time financially. I had set up zero sources of income for myself because of perfectionism.
[00:25:15] So anyway, when it came to actually figuring out as a perfectionist, cause this is what I really want to talk about with this, that I spent, I can’t remember. I wish I could like the key moment where I was like, Oh my God, it’s perfectionism. But it was a combination for sure of Brené Brown and Carol Dweck, both incredible, incredible teachers.
[00:25:43] I have learned so much from them anyway. So coming across them and starting to piece together as well as a lot of different other personal development experts and productivity teachers, people like Tim Ferris, Brooke Castillo, like just learning from all these different sources like. Hmm. This is actually not a motivation issue.
[00:26:03] This is perfectionism and perfectionism doesn’t actually seem to be what everyone else thinks it is. And that has been one of the reasons I’m so passionate talking about perfectionism because I didn’t think I was a perfectionist. I didn’t even realize. That it was perfectionism that it was stopping me from being consistent.
[00:26:24] That it was perfectionism that was stopping me from putting myself out there. That it was perfectionism that was creating the imposter syndrome. That it was perfectionism that was making me spend 10 hours writing a post and then not posting it. Or editing it once it was posted. Or deleting it. Because I was like, oh my god, how embarrassing that I even posted that.
[00:26:44] And once I actually started to realize like, this is actually perfectionism. And then over the years. that followed really deeply starting to understand what perfectionism is. This is how I developed like what the five signs are from what I have coached a thousand perfections entrepreneurs now and help them with all kinds of different businesses, all different stages of business from beginning to multi million dollar level businesses that procrastination, overthinking, burnout, fear of judgment, and the all or nothing mindset are the signs of perfectionism, particularly when it comes to business.
[00:27:22] But you can see this in a lot of areas of life, but because I’m here to help entrepreneurs, because that was for me, the thing I struggled with the most with perfectionism. And also it was impacting my livelihood, my ability to build a business and actually have an income from that business because I was happy enough, actually.
[00:27:41] Working in a nine to five job. I know a lot of entrepreneurs are like, I could never work for someone else. I was actually quite happy working for someone else being told here’s what to do, here’s when to work, here’s what success looks like, here’s some people. Like I loved having work friends. and having a cup of tea together or lunch together or going out on a Friday night.
[00:28:01] I liked that but I just had this restless feeling in me of like I just know I could be doing not even something more though it did it was that in my head but I was like I really want to do something related to personal development even though I had at the time no experience and no expertise in personal development but I can at least start documenting my own personal development journey.
[00:28:27] And I’ve been documenting it ever since so you can find it all around the internet, like all of this in real time if you want to go back and look. But having the epiphany that oh it’s perfectionism was absolutely, absolutely essential and I don’t know if I would have a business if I hadn’t have realized that.
[00:28:48] I would still be trying to Motivate myself, discipline myself, be better, do more, do it faster, do it more perfectly, and not understanding why, not understanding how perfectionism works, that it’s not this like toxic disease that you have to banish and rid from yourself, that perfectionism is just a way of thinking.
[00:29:13] It’s a way of thinking that we adopt typically in childhood as a survival technique. It’s very effective. So when it gets to adulthood, we hold onto it because we got the love and care that we needed from being perfect or avoiding being imperfect in the many different ways that can look for different people.
[00:29:35] We got love and attention and affection for that strategy. So of course we keep trying to make it work. in adulthood, especially if we’re not even aware of it. And a lot of people I work with are like, I know I, I’m a perfectionist. Everyone’s told me that from the day I was born. Other people like myself, I’d say most people like this.
[00:29:55] So like, I actually have had no idea until I started to learn that, And this is what I teach and what I’ve learned from people like Brene Brown, that perfectionism is a strategy to avoid shame. It’s not about fear of failure, it’s about fear of shame. And it’s ironic because perfectionists, we shame ourselves a lot.
[00:30:16] There’s a lot of shame in being a perfectionist. But we are trying to avoid shame coming from outside of us because there’s already so much shame inside, we can’t handle any extra. So we try to be perfect and Most importantly, this is how it manifests most, we try to avoid doing anything imperfectly.
[00:30:36] Hence, all the signs of perfectionism. Why procrastination, for example, is a sign of perfectionism. It’s because, well, if I can’t do it perfectly, it’s better to just wait till I could. And often, we know that time never comes, or I’ll do it at the last minute because if I do it then it’s okay if it’s not perfect because I had to rush because it was a deadline.
[00:30:57] and we lower the standard at the last minute because of the pressure of the last minute, we say, okay, it’s fine if it’s not perfect. So then I can finally get it done because it’s not such a big deal. So with that said, I hope you just like hearing me chat about my story. And there’s obviously parts after that, because that kind of takes us to 2015, mid 2015, I graduated.
[00:31:21] with a law degree, a finance degree, and a diploma of French because I’m a perfectionist, so we love having a full plate. And in 2017, I left my full time accounting job, really as a leap of faith. I went back to a part time receptionist job that I had so that I could focus more on my business. I only made about 3, 000 in total on my business at that point.
[00:31:44] I’m so proud of PassMe for having the courage to do that. and actually like veer off that corporate path. And then I went full time in my business in July, 2019. So I have been full time in my business comfortably for five years now. I have three little ones and I have a daughter, he’s three and a half twins, who are almost two.
[00:32:05] So I have had. a business that supports me not just Full time, but also having extended periods of leave working only three days a week Having a lot of time for friends and family and all the things like that. So i’m pretty pleased with how things are going and constantly continuing to Do the work of getting out of my own way at the levels that I’m at now And continuing to develop tools and all these different things I’ve made at this point over two million dollars from my business.
[00:32:38] I’ve helped over a thousand perfectionist entrepreneurs all different businesses, all different stages with overcoming perfectionism that is stopping them from being productive. So that’s Perfectionists Getting Shit Done is where I do that. Then specifically perfectionism and sales. I do one on one coaching around that.
[00:32:55] And I am just obsessed with this topic and love helping people. It’s the most satisfying thing. So that’s a bit about me, my story, obviously from like, when I started to figure out the productivity And it wasn’t until I wish someone had been like, Hey, this is power playing. Here’s how to do it. Hey, this is clean rest.
[00:33:16] Here’s how to do it. Hey, this is a momentum project. Here’s how to do it. I figured out those things along the way. And then I started just using them for myself, from adapting all these different things that I’d learned from different places and having it work for my perfectionist brain. And then, Trying it with one on one clients and then more and more clients and just seeing all their results and then refining it even further through feedback from them and my own experiences.
[00:33:44] So I love that I can now just fast track things for you and have it be such a quicker, easier journey than my like many years. It was three years before I made my first dollar, six years in total from when I started to when I had my first hundred K year. And then from then it, it started jumping up, but it was just a long grind to get to the 100K mark and to be able to leave my job that I had and to fully support myself from the business and to do that without it being like touch and go that Me figuring out the perfectionism piece and the productivity piece and then after that So this is what comes after pgsd is figuring out really the sales piece, but you’ve got to do the productivity piece first If you’re not doing anything, we can’t optimize for sales if you’re not taking action.
[00:34:38] Like if you go to anyone, the first thing that they will say is you’ve got to start doing stuff. Like we can’t actually, like you can’t steer a parked car. Like we actually need something to work with. You’ve got to start with productivity. So if you’re burned out, if you’re not taking action at all, if you’re a bit of both, PGSD is for you.
[00:34:58] So I want to invite you in. We open on the 31st of Jan for one week only. So samlaurabrown.com/PGSD is where to go to sign up.
